The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Reports to: Manager, Compliance Data Analytics
Role:
The Compliance Data Analyst has responsibility for the daily management of data systems and processes instituted by the Corporate Compliance Department (Department) in the fulfillment of its various functions.
Specifically, the Data Analyst must organize electronic data for use by the Department; update, maintain and manage the relevant database(s) that store the permanent record of certain processes and activities, including but not limited to eg: non-employed physician payment process by coordinating with various departments (eg, Accounts Payable, Vendor Maintenance, Purchasing, Physician Contracting), and exclusion checks.
In addition, the Data Analyst will support the Manager, Compliance Data Analytics in various tasks, including but not limited to the following: generate reports for the Department, System and Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board; compile, collect and manage data for analytical purposes eg, audits, trending reports, and assist and support system-wide projects.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and support non-employed physician financial relationship payments process
Payment validation/assurance process in PeopleSoft (or applicable software application)
- Review and reconcile payment requests against physician contract and verify/request additional supporting documentation (as needed) to determine course of action for physician payment
- Utilize PaymentWorks software to assist with vendor set up
- Requisition / Purchase Order (PO) creation and Item management (through PeopleSoft Purchasing)
- Physician PO creation and promulgation to appropriate party for payment
- Provide education to check requestors regarding the Physician PO payment process
- Resolve match exceptions in a timely manner
Data Analytics/Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and report data to identify trends, issues, opportunities
- Run and prepare database reports and dashboards (eg, Accounts Payable and PO reports for non-employed provider payment activity, Compliance audits, Committee reports (Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board, Compliance Steering Committee)
- Assist with system-wide requests for analytical data, both internal and external requests (under the direction of the Manager, Compliance Data Analytics)
- Manage Exclusions Checks
- Provide verification to vendor maintenance by screening new vendors for active exclusions/debarments at approved websites
- Regularly maintains and delivers monthly exclusion lists to the exclusion/sanction verification vendor (eg Employee, Medical Staff, Vendors)
- Provide support for ad-hoc proof of exclusion screening requests (eg 3rd Party Payor Audits, RWJBH annual audits)
- Maintenance responsibilities of software systems and databases to support Compliance-related activities and functions
- Provide technical support for the Physician Time Record Protocol (PTR) database and coordinate the preparation and distribution of quarterly reports
- Prepare bi-weekly or ad hoc reports of compliance matters and coordinate distribution of reports and information gathering from the Compliance Team
- Provide support for the implementation of new databases utilized and/or supported by the Compliance Department (eg Compliance documentation; excluded parties checks; policies and procedures (Department level and System level))
Documentation Management
- Research and provide requested documentation as necessary, for compliance audits, monitoring activities, or legal review
- Provide support and coordinate with Corporate Marketing/Communications for the management and/or updates to Compliance content hosted on the intranet
Key Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of five (5) years head health care delivery system; experience in a Compliance Department preferred
- Detailed oriented individual with excellent computer skills (proficient knowledge of Excel and Access for data analytics, Adobe Acrobat, Power Point)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and complex projects concurrently and effectively on risk priority basis
- This role requires a positive, solution-focused attitude, the ability to respond promptly to requests, and the capability to take on additional responsibilities as needed
The Data Analyst will be expected to report primarily to the office located in West Orange, NJ with travel to the Somerset (Campus Drive) and Oceanport (System Business Office) offices, as required
