• Responsibilities include the translation of requirements into working and maintainable solutions for our C5 and Cyber Solution Centers.
• The selected candidate will technical proficiency across various stages of our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), gather requirements, and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and scope tasks.
• The selected candidate will be working as a key team member on a Scrum team and will be instrumental in setting our direction and strategy for product and infrastructure development.

What You'll Do:

• Support the engineering team members as subject matter expert in embedded software application development, through guidance and direction to one or more software engineers.
• Investigate root cause of complex issues, and implement solutions, working independently or with a multi-disciplinary team.
• computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target hardware.
• Work closely with cross-functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, operational performance requirements, and design of the overall system.
• Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal test.
• Develop software test plans and procedures, and other relevant technical documentation.
• Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and evaluate results.
• Participate in peer reviews, identify, track, and repair defects.
• Utilize a variety of software languages (primarily C/C++ and Python), implementing software for embedded real-time operating systems.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience in developing applications on simulated and target hardware.
• 5+ years of experience in C++ (up to C++ 14) Embedded SW Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in Python.
• 5+ years of experience in C++ and Python with real-time embedded systems.
• 5+ years of experience in the Usage of a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or similar.

What Sets You Apart:

• Object-oriented design and implementation experience, with exposure to software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo.
• Familiarity with RUST software languages.
• Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with Modern C++ techniques.
• Experience with Information Assurance and/or cryptography.
• Experience with NSA Type 1 certification or other SW certification, such as DO-178.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good teamwork skills, able to work in a team environment.
