Supervision Received: Reports to the Practice Manager/Office Manager
Summary/Objective: Responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. Ability to competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to: vital signs, patient interview, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab/specimen prep, point of care collection and processing, filing, processing records, answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments and processing referrals. Must provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the patient served.

· Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms
· Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating
· Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary, administering vaccinations
· Give patients injections or medications as directed by physicians and as permitted by state law.
· Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
· Counseling patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about the treatment
· Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
· Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
· Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
· Performs additional job-related duties as assigned

· Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Proficient in administrative tasks
· Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
· Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems
· Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas
· Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response
· Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Required Education and Experience:
· Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
· High school diploma or equivalent required
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; walk; stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
· Work is performed in a busy office environment and requires both desk and counter work.
· Frequent contact with employees and outside agencies.
· Continual patient contact may involve dealing with angry or frustrated patients.
