The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:
The Scheduler/Receptionist is responsible for scheduling all patient infusion treatments and therapies with physician appointments for the Infusion and Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will maintain Infusion scheduling work queues and IN-Baskets in EPIC EMR. The Scheduler/Receptionist will collaborate with physician teams to ensure efficient scheduling coordination is met, collaborates with an Authorization team to ensure treatment authorization is completed prior to scheduling, and confirm and communicate final schedules with patients.

Qualifications:
Required:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training

Preferred:
• Epic Experience
• Experience with Scheduling
• Oncology Background
• Bilingual

Scheduling Requirements:

• Working Shift: Monday – Friday
• Day Shift: 9:00AM-5:00PM
• Full-Time, 37.5 Hours Per Week

Essential Functions:
• Schedules surgical/diagnostic procedures
• Reviews schedules for schedules for accuracy and completeness
• Identifies potential conflicts (i.e. equipment, instrumentation and works collaboratively with appropriate personal to resolve)
• Notifies surgeon, anesthesia office, other departments as appropriate regarding procedure schedule changes
• Distributes future schedules to appropriate individuals
• Interacts with physicians, office staff, patients, if applicable and in a professional and courteous manner
• Collaborates with anesthesia department regarding daily assignments
• Communicates with OR desk regarding special circumstances
• Monitors usage of block time and provides information to OR leadership as requested
• Maintains booking sheets and related information
• Assists in gathering information for department statistics
• Abides by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies,
• Performs all duties in a friendly and courteous manner offering assistance to physicians, patients, families, visitors and co-workers,
• Extends courtesy and consideration to others in all interpersonal relationships, including telephone contacts,
• Demonstrates the ability to respond to instruction from peers or superiors in order to complete department tasks
• Performs other departmental duties as prescribed by supervisory personnel
• Demonstrates the awareness of safety, security, life safety, emergency preparedness and utility and equipment management policies competencies,
• Adheres to Safety and Infection Control policies
• Attends mandatory in-services
• Follows incident reporting procedures
• Ensures that appropriate standards of practice follow corporate compliance guidelines, and that results of accreditation surveys and licensure reviews by NJSDOH and JCAHO are satisfactory
• Acts in an ethical and legal manner, and assures that all actions are in the best interest of both patients and the hospital
