Staff Accountant

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Staff Accountant is an integral part of the Accounting team ensuring that monthly closing tasks are completed accurately and timely. A basic understanding of the business is required to ensure that the monthly journal entries are accurate. This position is an entry level position that can lead to more responsibilities as the candidate’s experience and business acumen grows.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reconciliation of company bank and credit card accounts


• Prepare and post various monthly journal entries timely and accurately


• Reconcile various balance sheet and expense accounts timely in support of month end close


• Analyze account activity to ensure accurately stated and explain variances to budget/forecast


• Ability to prepare legal entity financial statements


• Prepare various reports (government, audit, bank, management)


• Assist in annual audit


• Various other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance


• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA Preferred


• Experience using an ERP system, Epicor experience a plus


• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot tables and Lookups


• Curious personality that wants to learn new things


• Ability to communicate well with other team members


• Ability to identify problems and perform preliminary root cause

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
