Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Director of Enterprise Data to lead our data strategy, analytics platforms, and enterprise data architecture. This role will oversee data warehousing, business intelligence, data integration, and automation initiatives, while managing a growing team of engineers, analysts, and developers. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in Azure data services, deep experience with mortgage data and analytics, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the enterprise data vision, architecture, and roadmap in alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the design and management of data platforms, including Azure Synapse, Data Factory, SQL Server, and enterprise BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Oversee end-to-end data integration processes across LOS, Salesforce, servicing platforms, marketing tools, and third-party vendors.
- Develop and govern a modern data warehouse and data lake to support analytics, reporting, automation, and data science use cases.
- Lead automation initiatives to streamline business workflows and optimize data flows between systems.
- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, BI developers, data analysts, and integration specialists.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, finance, operations, and compliance to define data requirements, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
- Champion data quality, lineage, metadata, and security governance frameworks.
- Enable predictive and prescriptive analytics through effective use of mortgage data mining and pattern recognition techniques.
- Support executive reporting, regulatory audits, and data-driven decision-making at the enterprise level.
Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or data engineering roles, with 5+ years in leadership.
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL Server, and related Microsoft data platforms.
- Deep knowledge of mortgage industry data, including loan origination, servicing, pipeline analytics, and portfolio analysis and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL pipelines, APIs, and automation of data workflows.
- Proficiency with BI tools like Tableau and Power BI, including data modeling and dashboard design.
- Proven track record of building and scaling enterprise data platforms and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, FFIEC).
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience with data science, predictive modeling, or AI/ML applied to financial or mortgage data.
- Exposure to low-code/no-code automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Logic Apps).
- Experience with data cataloging tools like Azure Purview.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and executive-level storytelling with data.
