General Laborer
Duties
- Required to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Package fresh meat in bags or film
- Load packages into machinery
- Box and weigh up fresh meat products
- Weight fresh meat
- Place labels on packages and trays
- Apply bone guard to fresh meat
- Dust bone saw particles off fresh meat
- Learn meat cutting skills
- Cutting trim
- Push/Pull pump jack
- Sanitation duties as assigned
- Adhere to all corporate safety procedures
- Comply with all personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements
- Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Heavy lifting ability up to 75+ pounds
- Able to work in a cold environment
- Use company equipment and tools only as properly authorized
- Maintain good attendance
- Work well with co-workers in a team atmosphere
- Self-motivated
Education / Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic reading and writing skills
Related Experience/Requirements
- Meat manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
- Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires workers to lift, step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend, and reach above shoulders as needed.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Work in a cold refrigerated environment
