Job Title: Import Operations Manager (Ocean/Air)

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, 100% onsite

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Salary: $60,000- $80,000/year (based on experience)

Job Description:

The Import Manager oversees all aspects of import operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. The role involves managing client and vendor relationships, leading a team, and optimizing operational processes to meet strategic goals. The candidate ensures smooth contract approvals, high-priority customer support, and resource planning to drive efficiency across the supply chain. All operations are conducted in accordance with U.S. customs, trade, and company regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, vendors, and strategic partners to support organizational objectives.

• Operations Oversight: Collaborate with team members to track, analyze, and report on KPIs and operational metrics to ensure timely and efficient task completion.

• Contract Approval: Provide final review and approval for all contracts, agreements, and pricing matters, ensuring compliance with company policies, U.S. trade laws, and regulations.

• Customer Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-priority customers, resolving escalated issues promptly and professionally.

• Team Development: Train new hires, provide on-the-job shadowing, and monitor team growth and performance continuously.

• Budget and Performance Monitoring: Track monthly and quarterly progress against organizational budgets and operational goals.

• Import Planning: Coordinate with the customer care team to plan, monitor, and optimize daily and weekly import shipments, minimizing costs while maximizing output.

• Resource Planning: Conduct high-level forecasting and resource allocation to support strategic operational decisions.

Qualifications Required:

• Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Korean for client and vendor communications.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.

• Experience: 4+ years in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management; 3–4 years working across multiple operational functions such as finance, customer service, supply chain, or operations preferred.

• Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities with 3+ years in conflict management and business negotiation.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent people skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
