Position Description
As a senior FPGA Engineer at QCI you will be part of the Hardware Platform team. You will work closely with high-performing teams of hardware, FPGA , software engineers, and scientists with expertise spanning from device physics to classical computer architecture and software. Together, we will develop, prototype, and implement key solutions for our photonics-based quantum computer architecture.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and Design real-time DSP and digital algorithms and systems using FPGAs.
- Develop RTL for use within multiple projects. Analyze and enhance efficiency, scalability, and stability of the system resources.
- Integrate multiple FPGAs and off-the-shelf hardware devices into our quantum computer architecture.
- Imagine, design, implement, simulate, and test the operation of the FPGA logic in circuits and systems.
- Provide quality documentation of code, design, and testing results.
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary teams to conceive, design, and bring innovative quantum systems to market.
- Work through ambiguous or undefined problems and think abstractly to produce creative solutions to challenging problems.
- Effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to management
Required Skills and Experience
- Undergraduate or master’s degree in Electrical/Computer engineering (or equivalent), 4 to 10 years of industry experience in FPGA design. OR a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- Experience with more than one commercial product cycles from concept to production is required.
- Expertise in System Verilog/Verilog
- Experience with timing closure in very high-speed design and in pushing performance to device limit
- Good experience in RTL simulation (xsim, ModelSim, etc.) and building testbenches to verify your design.
- Solid experience with Xilinx or Altera (Intel) FPGAs and associated development tools
- Experience in digital hardware circuits is required.
- Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Comfortable with hardware debugging in lab
- Good communication skills and a team player.
- Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems and manage simultaneous tasks.
- Experience with high-speed FPGA transceivers(10/40/100Gbps) is preferred.
- Experience with Versal HBM interface is highly desired.
- Experience with implement data compression(zip) in FPGA is a big plus.
