This opportunity is with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing quality, accessible care to underserved populations across South Jersey. Salary and Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Responsibilities
- Assist in managing Epic work queues, claim edits, payer rejections, and cash posting
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility
- Submit accurate and timely insurance claims
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve denials
- Communicate with patients regarding balances and payment options
- Maintain accurate billing records and EHR documentation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, HRSA, and other regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff on documentation and coding concerns
- Support and collaborate with billing vendor on claims and accounts receivable
- Handle correspondence with insurance companies, patients, and auditors
- Document and process account adjustments per policy
- Stay updated on regulatory and payer changes impacting FQHCs in New Jersey
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Revenue Cycle Management
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred (5 years of experience may substitute for degree)
- 2–3 years of experience in a healthcare or community health center setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical billing systems, coding, and insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, MVA, Workers Comp, and dental plans
- Experience identifying and solving operational problems
- Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule
