Join Owen Health Care Inc. as a Part-Time Youth I/DD Individual Support Specialist / Worker and be part of a team that positively impacts the lives of children and adolescents. You will have the opportunity to utilize your experience in teaching and working with youth while developing strong relationships with families and professionals. Our ISS Workers travel to the homes of our children and adolescents to make a difference in the lives of others while enjoying a work-life balance.
The pay for this position ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, offering competitive compensation for your valuable skills. We also offer great benefits such as 401(k). We have multiple locations.

Your day as an Individual Support Worker
As an Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care Inc., you will play a crucial role in providing personalized teaching sessions to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities using applied behavior analysis techniques. Working closely with behavioral therapists, you will assist in creating therapy programs and implementing behavioral interventions in both home and community settings. With supervision and training provided by our experienced coordinators, you will have the opportunity to develop individualized service plans for each child, manage behavioral challenges, and ensure a safe and positive environment for our youth. Your dedication to fostering positive behavior and facilitating meaningful recreational activities will make a significant impact on the lives of the children and adolescents you work with.

To excel as an Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care Inc., candidates must possess either a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one year of supervised experience, or a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with both the children and their families. The ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines is crucial for successful implementation of behavioral therapy programs. Candidates should also demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents in a supportive and nurturing manner. Prior experience in behavioral interventions and a commitment to ongoing professional development are highly valued attributes for this role.
