Role Overview
Seeking an experienced R&D SME to support a global pharmaceutical client. The role bridges business and technical teams translating R&D needs into client data and analytics solutions that ensure clarity, compliance, and business value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Domain Leadership: Serve as the R&D/Clinical expert for data onboarding and governance. Guide stakeholders across discovery, pre-clinical, and clinical functions, aligning data efforts to business goals.
  • Elicit business needs and translate into functional requirements, data mappings, and test scenarios. Partner with technical teams to ensure data is structured and integrated to support analytics and insights.
  • Apply deep knowledge of pharma data governance, access management, and compliance standards (GxP, FAIR). Contribute to metadata standards, data catalogs, and controlled access models.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate complex R&D and data concepts clearly to senior business and IT leaders. Lead workshops and reviews to drive decisions and ensure alignment.
Required Experience
  • 7–10+ years total experience; majority in pharma R&D with primary focus on Discovery and Clinical areas.
  • Strong grasp of R&D workflows, clinical operations, and related regulatory processes.
  • Knowledge of pharma data sources (internal/external: discovery, clinical, real-world, omics).
  • Proven skill in translating business priorities into functional designs and test scenarios.
  • Experience with data governance, quality, metadata, and access controls.
  • Excellent client-facing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Prior consulting or global program experience preferred.

Pay Transparency Laws
Salary range or hourly pay range for the position
The salary range for this position is $119,500 to $163,875 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.


The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
