A day in the life
You start your morning by reviewing your route in the ERP system, stocking your service van with the right parts, and heading out to support a select group of customers across your territory. On site, you diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on lift trucks and related material handling equipment, complete scheduled contract maintenance, and record any unsafe conditions you encounter. Between calls, you update work orders on your mobile device, maintain your rolling inventory, and keep your tools and van in top condition. Before the day ends, you finish accurate billing—road, shop, and internal—directly into the ERP, and line up parts and training for tomorrow through RNJ.
What you’ll do- Troubleshoot and repair a broad range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults within industry standards and profitable guidelines.
- Perform planned maintenance for contract customers and document findings, including any unsafe conditions.
- Build strong customer relationships while representing our brand and supporting aftermarket product sales.
- Manage van stock—right parts, right levels—to service equipment efficiently across your territory.
- Stay current with repair methods and technology through RNJ-scheduled training.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed for testing and verification.
- Enter accurate service details and billing (internal/external road and shop) into the ERP system.
- Maintain service van and tools in safe, reliable working order.
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm with a half hour lunch period. Overtime may be required to maintain the current workload.
What you bring- Foundational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clear history.
- Skill with specialized mechanical tools and common hand tools.
- Comfort operating various electronic diagnostic devices and a range of material handling equipment.
- Ability to complete electronic paperwork within company guidelines.
- Capability to handle specific chemicals and cleaners safely.
- Basic computer proficiency in a Windows environment.
- Professional appearance and full company uniform, including safety boots.
Degree or certificate from a college or technical school; or 1 year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication and mathClear, effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to perform basic mathematical computations.
Physical demandsComfort working in varied positions (standing, kneeling, bending, lying, etc.) and routinely lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
