TITLE: LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

Job Summary:

Firm X is a mid-sized general practice law firm with offices in the NJ/NY Metropolitan area seeking a Litigation Associate for their Parsippany, NJ office.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in civil litigation, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
• Overseeing or processing E-filing in State and Federal Courts.
• Negotiate settlements and plea bargains.
• Respond to emergent filings and other client matters
• Draft, review and revise all legal filings including motions, briefs, answers, due process petitions, contracts, resolutions, settlement agreements, and other legal pleadings/documents as required.

Requirements:

• Two (2+) years of Litigation experience
• Defending personal injury and other claims on behalf of large, self insured corporations, insurance companies and public entities
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• New Jersey Bar Admissions required
• Trial experience is a plus and the ideal person has proficient research and writing skills and experience in representing public and private clients.
• Title 59, Federal Court experience in civil rights cases and New York admission are also pluses.
• Ability to utilize advanced features of Microsoft Office suite, Coyote Analytics, I Manage, Westlaw and other online legal research platforms.
