OIT provides university wide services and support and collaborates with department and unit IT professionals on projects and initiatives for the Rutgers community. OIT's services and systems include the Rutgers network; email and calendaring systems; IDs/passwords and identity management; data centers; computer labs; help desk support; wireless connectivity; a software portal; information security, risk, and compliance services; research computing; and many others. For more information, please visit Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Application Developer III for the Office of Information Technology. This position reports to the Director IT of OIT/EARC Student Information System (SIS). Among the key duties of this position are the following:- Serves as a key developer and team lead for all aspects of software development lifecycle including tools, methodology and best practices for the SIS Transformation project and accountable for the implementation and support of the next generation of the Rutgers enterprise student information system and services on Oracle Fusion Cloud ecosystem.
- Stays current on emerging technologies and leading approaches in Higher Education, leading and driving project discussions and technical workshops and interacting with third-party vendors.
- Plans, coordinates and executes spans across multiple disciplines to develop robust, holistic solutions for project assignments.
- Performs a wide variety of tasks, including recommending and architecting new technology solutions, defining configuration and extension standards along with technical approaches for conversions, interfaces, and reports.
- This position is also a key contributor to the ongoing EARC's evolution and development of cloud computing strategies, roadmaps, and plans.
- Provides high-level analysis, guides other members, and groups within the department and oversees the implementations designed and developed by other team members.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum seven (7) years of programming experience, with solid knowledge of current programming languages and methodologies. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
- Knowledgeable in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Ability to stay up to date on the latest Oracle Fusion Cloud technologies and trends.
- Solid understanding of data migration/integration principles.
- Hands-on experience in performing data conversions and integration from legacy systems to Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Basic Student Information System Module Understanding.
- Experience building integrations using REST/SOAP Services.
- Ability to manage project expectations and deliverables by platform vendors, implementation partners and ensure end user satisfaction.
- Proficient in documentation/management of technical specifications and collaboration with business users to gather and document business requirements for configuration, extension, and development requests.
- Excellent at communicating and explaining complex concepts in layman's terms, manage tasks and translate requirements into technical work action items and drive project deliverables.
- Ability to prioritize, schedule, and complete development, configuration, and testing required for multiple projects with overlapping schedules.
- Solid experience to lead teams through the entire life cycle of project implementations and upgrades.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, detail-oriented and thorough.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision or in a team environment.
- Excellent oral presentation and communication skills and uses these skills to provide exceptional service.
- Hands-on technical and development support for Oracle Fusion Cloud Student Management modules.
- Ability to design and develop customizations using Visual Builder and Process Builder in Oracle Integration Cloud to Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with design and develop integrations in Oracle Integration Cloud (or other Integration Platform) to Oracle Fusion Cloud, including making REST and SOAP, FBDI/HDL File Uploads, and extracting data using Analytics/BI Publisher reports, analysis, and OTBI Reports.
- Knowledgeable in version control with Git and GitLab.
- Familiar with bug tracking systems (JIRA), and collaborative software (Confluence, Slack, MS Teams).
- Experience with automated development/test tools (SoapUI, Postman API Platform, and browsers developer tools.
- Hands-on development of packages and functions using SQL/PLSQL and exposing them as REST endpoints.
- Familiar with Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies (Shibboleth, OAuth).
- Application development experience following software development lifecycles.
- Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing.
