Medical Record Clerk
The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for managing and processing medical record requests from external agencies, previous patients, and other authorized parties. The role ensures the accurate, timely, and secure release of information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and fulfill medical record requests from external parties.
- Verify authorizations and ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy laws.
- Retrieve records from EHR systems and physical archives.
- Ensure accuracy and security in the release of records.
- Serve as the point of contact for inquiries and provide customer service.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports on record requests.
Qualifications:
- Education : High School Diploma (required).
- Experience : 1-2 years in medical records or health information management.
- Skills : Proficiency in EHR systems, understanding of HIPAA, attention to detail, strong communication skills.
Schedule flexible 15 hours week
