Job Description

The CVICU Nurse will be responsible for providing specialized care to cardiovascular patients in a critical care setting. This role requires floating between five designated hospitals based on patient care needs, ensuring high standards of patient safety and care quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with open heart recovery and manage post-operative patients.
• Utilize advanced critical care technology, including balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella's, and ECMO.
• Perform charting tasks using the EPIC system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of experience in CVICU.
• Experience with open heart recovery directly from the OR.
• Knowledge of balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella's, and ECMO is essential.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NJ or Compact nursing license must be active and in hand at the time of submission.
