A day in this role

You arrive at our modern, fully climate-controlled 28,000-square-foot facility, greet a few teammates, and review the production schedule. Your first task is to set up a CNC machine for a standard production run. You load the workholding, call up a proven program, make a few basic edits, and verify tool paths. With a careful eye on cutting speeds, chip load, and tool wear, you bring the machine up to speed. Throughout the day, you inspect part geometry, confirm tolerances, deburr components, and document results so each job meets spec and ships on time.

Between runs, you troubleshoot small issues—maybe a fixture tweak here, a tool offset adjustment there—while keeping your area clean and safe. You take pride in doing it right the first time and collaborating with a supportive team that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Set up and manufacture standard parts on CNC machinery with minimal supervision, meeting specifications and tight tolerances on schedule.
• Develop and enter basic CNC programs independently.
• Monitor tool paths, cutting speeds, chip loads, and tool wear; make offset and process adjustments as needed.
• Inspect part geometry to confirm dimensions and tolerances are within spec using precision measuring tools.
• Load, unload, and deburr parts to ensure optimal quality and throughput.
• Maintain production schedules and accurate documentation.
• Identify potential issues with machinery, tooling, and workholding and collaborate to resolve them.
• Keep the work area, equipment, tools, and personal apparel clean and presentable to ensure a safe workplace.

What you'll bring

• High school diploma, GED, or Apprenticeship background.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in CNC machining responsibilities.
• Ability to create and edit basic CNC programs.
• Proficiency reading prints and understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skill with precision measuring instruments: indicators, micrometers, optical comparators, thread gages, gage pins, and more.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Talent for diagnosing and troubleshooting machining issues.
• Calm focus under pressure; can manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Mechanical aptitude; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Safety-minded, ethical, and motivated to learn and grow.
