Private Family Chef – Full-Time
Location: Colts Neck, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday (approx. 10:00 AM – after dinner)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and wellness-focused Private Chef to join a busy household of five in Colts Neck, NJ. The family values healthy, organic, and high-quality meals prepared with care and consistency. The ideal candidate will bring creativity to menu planning, balance health-conscious cooking with hearty, protein-rich meals for growing young men, and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly day to day.

This is a full-time, salaried role based in the family’s private residence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, shop for, and prepare lunch and dinner daily for the family (with meals prepped and stored in containers as needed).

• Provide at least two meal options per day, tailoring menus to the family’s preferences and dietary goals.

• Cook with organic, gluten-free (mainly but not all), and whole food ingredients, avoiding seed oils and processed foods.

• Design meals that are both healthy and high-calorie for the sons, with lighter, protein-focused options for mom.

• Prepare salads with protein, balanced meals with vegetables, pastas, and quality proteins such as steak, chicken, and pork chops.

• Occasionally prepare snacks or menus for light entertaining.

• Manage grocery shopping, pantry stocking, and ingredient sourcing within the provided budget (vendor list and funds provided).

• Maintain a pristine, well-organized, and safe kitchen environment, including food storage, labeling, and cleaning.

• Minimize food waste while ensuring freshness and variety.

• Collaborate with the family on menu planning while also working independently day to day.

• Provide the family with a sense of balance and consistency, reducing reliance on takeout.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Private Chef, Personal Chef, or Executive Chef (family cooking experience highly valued).

• Expertise in organic, gluten-free, and wellness-oriented cooking.

• Strong ability to prepare flavorful, diverse meals while meeting dietary needs and preferences.

• ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification strongly preferred.

• Discreet, professional, and reliable with a strong work ethic in a private household.

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a kitchen end-to-end.

• Flexible, communicative, and collaborative, with the ability to adapt menus to evolving family needs.
