Position Overview

The QA/QC Manager will establish and maintain quality assurance and quality control programs for bus duct and switchgear manufacturing operations. This role requires a manufacturing industry background, construction QC experience is not applicable to this position. The ideal candidate understands electrical product quality standards, UL certification requirements, and manufacturing process control.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and quality standards

• Develop inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and test protocols for bus duct assemblies, switchgear panels, and subcomponents

• Lead incoming material inspection, in-process quality checks, and final product testing and certification

• Maintain compliance with UL 891 (switchboards), NEMA, NEC, and applicable product safety certifications

• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances; lead root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) processes

• Manage and calibrate all test and measurement equipment

• Train production staff on quality standards, defect recognition, and inspection procedures

• Generate quality metrics reports; present findings to Plant Manager and corporate quality teams

• Support third-party audits and UL/CSA certification inspections

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred

• 5+ years of QA/QC management experience in manufacturing (electrical, electromechanical, or industrial products strongly preferred)

• Manufacturing industry background required; construction QC experience does not meet qualifications

• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, UL product certification processes, and NEMA standards

• Experience with SPC, FMEA, and lean quality tools

• Strong documentation and audit readiness skills

• Local candidates preferred (Vineland, NJ area)
