Short Description Attending Nocturnist Per Diem Position in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Cooper University Health Care (CUHC) and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) are expanding clinical services, teaching and research programs, and innovative population health initiatives. CUHC has an opening for a per diem psychiatry nocturnist attending physician in Emergency and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. The nocturnist would work alongside a psychiatry resident and will join a broader team of attending psychiatrists and advanced practice providers (APPs) to provide clinical care and teaching (medical students and residents). Shifts would be 10 hours per night for four nights per week, from 9p to 7am. Clinical duties include caring for psychiatric patients in the emergency department and responding to acute consultation requests or behavioral emergencies on medical/surgical floors. Cooper has a robust, interdisciplinary Behavioral Rapid Response Team protocol in which the nocturnist would participate.

The responsibilities will include clinical service and program development; shared duties with other members of the department; and teaching trainees. Education Requirements MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree. License/Certification Requirements Candidates should be eligible for or have active ACGME board certification in General Psychiatry and medical licensure in New Jersey.
