Food Runner

Hudson & Co. stands on the waterfront, within the rapidly evolving Harborside district in Jersey City. The mammoth 12,000Sq.ft. / 300 seat Modern American Restaurant is embellished in the heart of the prestigious Plaza 10 office tower. While featuring multiple indoor and outdoor dining options, the entire establishment boasts unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline across the historic Hudson River.

Job Overview:

The Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant by maintaining the cleanliness of the pass, preparation of the line for service and flow of food to the dining area. As a Runner, you will be responsible for bussing and resetting the line, providing expo service, running food to the dining spaces, and keeping the dining room and service areas clean and organized. Your attention to detail and efficiency are essential in supporting the service team and creating a seamless and memorable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run food to service areas and tables between guest seatings, maintaining a clean and organized line and dining area.
• Working with the kitchen team to ensure the pass is fully stocked and operational.
• Clear tables efficiently and thoroughly between courses and at the end of each meal.
• Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a support or busser role in a restaurant setting is preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all members of the restaurant staff.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• A friendly and approachable demeanor, with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stay focused and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and walking for extended periods, often for the entire shift.
• Lifting and carrying trays, dishes, and other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Bending, reaching, and stooping to perform tasks around the dining area.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of activity.
