Position Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead food safety, quality assurance, lab operations, and regulatory compliance at our food manufacturing facility. This hands-on leadership role ensures product quality, regulatory alignment, and operational excellence across all quality functions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in HACCP, FSMA, and SQF standards and thrives in fast-paced dairy or food production environments.
The Ideal Candidate:
Brings years of quality assurance leadership in food or dairy manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF, sanitation, and lab practices
Has experience leading audits and interacting with regulatory bodies
Clear communicator with strong documentation and presentation skills
Solutions-driven, collaborative, and skilled at motivating teams
Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily food safety and quality operations to ensure compliance with internal protocols and regulatory standards
Supervise QC staff, training, and lab operations
Maintain and update HACCP and SQF systems; act as SQF Practitioner
Coordinate third-party and regulatory audits; prepare documentation and lead responses
Manage environmental monitoring, hold programs, pest control, and sanitation oversight
Analyze quality KPIs, consumer complaints, and lab results to identify trends and implement corrective actions
Maintain documentation including SOPs, test manuals, and safety protocols
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across departments
Ensure adherence to FDA, FSMA, GMP, and plant-specific safety and hygiene regulations
Qualifications and Must-Haves:
- Minimum 5 years in a food manufacturing QA/QC role; 3+ years in a supervisory position
HACCP and PCQI certified (SQF Practitioner or ability to obtain within 90 days)
Practical audit experience and understanding of regulatory expectations
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and team leadership skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and QA documentation systems
