Quality Inspector
Join a leading manufacturer in the medical wire and tubing industry as a Quality Inspector. We are seeking a well-rounded quality professional experienced with metals, including stainless steel, brass, and nitinol. You will utilize various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, a steel ruler, and an optical non-contact visual inspection machine to measure length, height, and diameter. Familiarity with quality systems for documentation and computer system entry is essential.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and specifications to understand product requirements.
- Monitor operations to ensure compliance with production standards.
- Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process.
- Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced.
- Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- Operate electronic inspection equipment and software.
- Approve or reject raw materials or finished products based on quality standards.
- Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
- Report inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected.
- Operate electronic inspection equipment such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) and 3D scanners.
- Prepare and submit reports to Quality Management.
- Assist production personnel in promoting ideas for controlling wasted materials and time.
Essential Skills
- Experience in inspection and quality control.
- Ability to use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.
- Blueprint reading and visual inspection skills.
- Experience with quality system documentation and ISO standards.
- Ability to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Proficiency in using visual measuring tools similar to a CMM.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Ability to use a microscope.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to apply feedback to improve performance.
- Monitors own work to ensure quality.

Work Environment
This position is on the 3rd shift: Monday-Friday, 11pm-7am, within a manufacturing facility with multiple departments. The company operates on three shifts, and employees are encouraged to cross-train in different areas.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edison, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
