Operations Manager (Moving and Junk Removal)

About the Role:
This position does not have a standard Monday through Friday work schedule. The working days and hours are subject to change, but the general schedule is as follows:
Monday: 12pm-8pm
Tuesday: 12pm-8pm
Wednesday: 12pm-8pm
Saturday: 6am-4pm
Sunday: 6am-4pm
An Operations Manager for College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving is responsible for day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating and overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth business processes.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Business Operations: Maintain a high level of functionality in day-to-day operations and implement the College HUNKS way (Systems, Technology, Practices). Facilitate morning, weekly, and quarterly meetings with your team to ensure alignment and productive communication around issues and initiatives. You act as the first resource for front line team members when assistance is needed, up until the last truck has returned for the day.
Training and Development: Initiate the on-going and developing of A-Players during meetings. Make sure the team is up to date with the current CH systems and best practices so they are adequately prepared for their job duties. Identify strengths and weaknesses in Hunks and use that information to facilitate promotions and/or performance improvement plans.
Culture: Build and maintain a positive and enthusiastic team and camaraderie amongst the team members. Have healthy/direct convos: No gossip, commit to team decisions, have a generous mindset, no prejudice, hold self and others accountable, be present for team. You are an energy director.
Metrics/KPIs: Track individual captain and team metrics to promote coaching conversations, ensure growth, and hold team members accountable to KPIs and benchmarks. Develop, adopt and execute on the CH sales strategy and inspire a sales mindset among frontline team.
Customer Service/Communication : Provide excellent customer service through timely welcome calls, confirmation calls, and happy checks to better the client and employee experience, and reduce cancellations. Coach team members to create a "WOW" experience for the customer while generating necessary income. Set HUNKS up for success and provide best practices for exceeding client expectations in order to drive a high NPS, and 5-star google reviews.
Marketing: Manage daily ZIGMA activities completed by the truck teams. Share the why, educate, and hold team accountable to the ZIGMA standard.
Scheduling: Drive revenue, maintain labor % and overtime by aggressive and efficient scheduling so as to prevent Hunks from burning out, and controlling overtime. Facilitate the right captains/crews for the right clients/services. Work with hiring manager to ensure we have enough HUNKS for a full schedule each day.
Asset Management: Security, safety and upkeep of all company assets on a routine/scheduled basis: Trucks, Ipads, Cell Phones, Laptops, Office, Cash, Supplies etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
- Proven experience in an operations role or similar capacity
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Computer skills required
- Knowledge of industry-specific operations and regulations is a plus
- High attention to detail
