HVAC Helper Needed-Dayton, NJ

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7 am to 4:30 pm

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Duties

• Assist licensed HVAC technicians with installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across various properties.
• Help troubleshoot issues using tools such as ohmmeters and basic electrical testing devices.
• Aid in plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including refrigerant lines and condensate drainage.
• Maintain the cleanliness of work sites, tools, and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency during field service operations.
• Assist with mechanical repairs on HVAC components when necessary.
• Support property maintenance tasks such as boiler checks, appliance repairs, or general mechanical upkeep.
• Follow safety protocols diligently while working with complex equipment like boilers or ammonia refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction or service technician roles is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
• Basic mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems, plumbing, refrigeration, or appliance repair is a plus.
• Ability to operate tools such as ohmmeters or other electrical testing devices safely.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a driver’s license is preferred for site visits.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail when working on complex mechanical or electrical systems.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in property maintenance and HVAC/R environments.
