Job Description: DIRECT SPEECH THERAPY & EVALUATION SERVICES Hiring Organization: ATC Healthcare Services – New JerseyClient: East Orange Board of EducationLocation: East Orange, NJ Position Overview: ATC Healthcare Services – New Jersey, a Joint Commission-certified leader in healthcare staffing, is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Specialist (or equivalent) to provide comprehensive evaluation services for students across Pre-School (3 & 4), Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. The Speech-Language Specialist will play a critical role in the Child Study Team (CST) process by conducting evaluations, composing professional reports, and collaborating with educators and school administrators to support individualized student learning and development. Evaluation Services Requirements: * Ability to administer evaluations for students across multiple grade and developmental levels. * Proficiency with a variety of standardized assessments used in diagnosing speech-language disorders. * Demonstrated experience writing clear, comprehensive, and professional reports. * Commitment to delivering written reports within a two-week turnaround time. Scope of Work: Activities: * Conduct Speech-Language evaluations on a per-case basis as part of the CST evaluation process. * Assess, identify, or rule out speech-language communication disabilities. * Provide written reports with actionable recommendations for educational programming. Service Requirements: * Hold a valid New Jersey Certificate for Speech-Language Specialist or an approved equivalent. * Perform district-based assessments on a scheduled basis (before and after school hours as needed). * Submit written evaluation reports promptly and professionally. * Participate in consultations and pre-planning IEP meetings with district case managers. Engagement & Assessment Process: * Receive case information via district disposition forms. * Coordinate with parents/guardians to schedule evaluations at the district’s central office or designated facilities. * Conduct evaluations either: * At the district’s central office conference room, or * At the student’s school in a space arranged by school staff. * Ensure parents/guardians handle transportation when evaluations are off-site. Assessment Tools Utilized: * Test of Language Development (TOLD) * Test of Early Language Development (TELD) * Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals (CELF) * Goldman-Fristoe Test of Articulation (GFTA) * Preschool Language Scale – 5 (PLS-5) * Functional Communication Profile – Revised (FCP-R) * Expressive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test (EOWPVT) * Receptive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test (ROWPVT) * Receptive-Expressive Emergent Language Test – 4 (REEL-4) Consultation & Collaboration: * Report regularly to assigned schools and maintain communication with administrators and CST members. * Develop and share Speech Therapy schedules with staff, teachers, parents, and CST members. * Consult with instructional staff to reinforce speech-language goals in the classroom. * Implement modifications requested by the district within five (5) business days and provide confirmation upon completion. * Remain available by phone for scheduled consultations with district case managers. Qualifications: Required: * New Jersey Certificate for Speech-Language Specialist (or approved equivalent). * Minimum 1 year of professional experience in school-based or pediatric speech-language evaluation. Preferred: * Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or Creole). * Familiarity with CST/IEP processes and school-based collaboration. Why Join ATC Healthcare?
