Sales Manager Packaging

Job Purpose:

Our Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination and direction of profitable sales within a specified region. Duties include acting as the leader of your territory by managing a team of sales professionals, implementing and fostering corporate initiatives, maintaining supplier relationships and growing Veritiv’s customer base. This position requires a “take the wheel” approach for the entire sales process along with strong skills for intelligence gathering, prospecting to negotiating and account management.

Job Responsibilities:

● Develop a team of high performers who grow business through new account acquisition and expanding share of wallet.
● Implement sales and marketing strategies which will contribute to achieving the Territory and Regional objectives.
● Conduct sales meetings, trainings, and account/pipeline reviews on a regular basis with sales group.
● Set appropriate performance objectives for team members and hold them accountable for achieving these.
● Identify opportunities and present solutions offered by the organization that meet the customer’s needs.
● Create a personal network and represent the organization at business sector events to enhance the company brand.
● Work with organization to ensure team members maintain up-to-date customer and inventory data in the CRM and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
● Manage and report on team performance, assets (inventory) and budget execution.
● Partner with the Credit Manager to ensure accounts receivable are kept current.
● Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures to ensure the team’s and own work adheres to required standards.
● May be requested to perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Experience and knowledge in in Packaging, Facility Solutions or similar industry is preferred.
● Must have strong leadership and management skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
● Excellent verbal, written, people and diplomacy skills required.
● Good interpersonal and conflict management skills required.
● 30% travel required.
● Experience managing a team of 5-10 direct reports.
● Territory sales or account management experience preferred.
● Strong understanding or experience from a large, national or decentralized distribution organization preferred.
● Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.

Target midpoint salary $145,300 with $29,100 Sales Incentive Plan Bonus

Work Experience:

● 1-3 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent. ● 3-5 years of related job experience.

Education:

● Bachelor's Degree

Physical Requirements:
● A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time.
● The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
● The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
