Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Manager
Location: New Jersey (On-site Manufacturing Facility)
Reports To: Operations / Manufacturing Leadership
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

Princeton Tec is seeking a Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Manager to support and maintain our U.S.-based manufacturing and facility operations. This role is responsible for performing simple to moderate electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and building systems maintenance and repair , while also coordinating and managing outside vendors for larger or specialized projects.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and mechanically inclined , capable of independently troubleshooting equipment while also planning preventative maintenance, supporting facility infrastructure, and overseeing vendor-led work. Depending on experience, this position may function as a senior technician or evolve into a maintenance management role .

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Equipment & Systems Maintenance

• Perform routine, corrective, and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair:
• • Electrical systems (low-voltage controls, motors, sensors, panels)
  • Mechanical systems (drives, bearings, conveyors, presses, fixtures)
  • Pneumatic systems (air lines, valves, regulators, cylinders)
  • Hydraulic systems (pumps, hoses, fittings, basic circuits)
  • HVAC systems (RTUs, exhaust systems, make-up air units, basic controls)
  • Building systems (lighting, doors, dock equipment, compressors, utilities)
• Support injection molding machines, assembly equipment, test fixtures, and general plant machinery
• Respond to equipment and facility issues to minimize production disruption

Preventative Maintenance & Reliability

• Develop, execute, and improve preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and facility systems
• Maintain maintenance records, documentation, and spare parts inventories
• Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions, upgrades, or replacements

Vendor & Project Management

• Coordinate and manage outside contractors for:
• • HVAC service and controls work
  • Electrical and mechanical contractors
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic specialists
  • Facility repairs, utilities, and capital improvements
• Scope work, obtain quotes, schedule vendors, and oversee safety, quality, and completion
• Serve as Princeton Tec’s on-site point of contact during vendor-led projects

Facilities & Infrastructure Support

• Support ongoing operation of:
• • HVAC and environmental systems
  • Compressed air systems
  • Electrical distribution and lighting
  • Building utilities and infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and maintenance best practices

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to improve uptime and reliability
• Support new equipment installation, facility upgrades, and layout changes
• Contribute to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
• Working knowledge of:
• • Mechanical and electrical systems
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • HVAC and building systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals
• Experience coordinating outside vendors or contractors
• Strong organizational skills and safety mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in plastic injection molding or assembly manufacturing
• Trade school, technical training, or apprenticeship background
• CMMS or maintenance tracking system experience
• Lead technician or supervisory experience
• EPA HVAC certification or equivalent (a plus)
