As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.

About the Unit:

5 Heritage – Medical-Surgical & Postoperative Telemetry Unit

18-bed inpatient unit

5 Heritage is a fast-paced medical-surgical telemetry unit specializing in the care of postoperative surgical patients. The team provides care for patients recovering from abdominal, bariatric, orthopedic joint replacement, urologic, and vascular surgeries, including amputations and irrigation and debridement procedures. In addition to its surgical population, the unit cares for a broad range of general medical-surgical and telemetry patients with complex medical conditions.

All patient rooms are equipped for continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring. Registered nurses receive training in basic dysrhythmia recognition and are responsible for continuous cardiac rhythm interpretation. The unit maintains a close collaborative relationship with surgeons, anesthesiology, the PACU team, physical therapy, and other interdisciplinary partners to provide comprehensive postoperative care.
