Production Operations Manager, Commercial Roofing

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all production operations, including new construction and roof replacement projects. You’ll drive execution, build structure, and play a major role in shaping the future of the production department.
Position Overview
The Production Operations Manager owns the full lifecycle of production—from pre-construction handoff through project closeout. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
You’ll lead field teams, implement processes, and drive accountability across multiple projects while improving efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all production operations across new construction and re-roof projects
• Oversee project execution from pre-construction through closeout
• Drive safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance
• Lead, mentor, and hold supervisors and crews accountable
• Build and scale the production department through hiring and training
• Manage budgets, job costing, and overall project profitability
• Oversee procurement of materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment
• Manage scheduling, site logistics, RFIs, and change orders
• Partner with safety leadership to maintain strong compliance standards
• Ensure clear communication across internal teams, vendors, and clients
• Deliver successful project closeouts and manufacturer warranties
Qualifications
• 10+ years of commercial roofing project management or operations experience
• Background as a Senior Project Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role
• Proven experience managing new construction and re-roof projects end-to-end
• Strong understanding of budgeting, job costing, and production metrics
• Experience leading teams across multiple projects simultaneously
• Track record of implementing processes and improving operations
• Knowledge of procurement, subcontractors, scheduling, and logistics
• Experience with RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
• Strong leadership presence and decision-making ability
• Excellent communication skills across field and executive teams
• Proficient with construction software and technology platforms
