Overview

CTG is seeking to fill an AWS Data Engineer for our client in Newark, NJ.

Location: Newark, NJ
Duration: 2 years

Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, and Athena.

• Architect and implement robust ETL processes and data integration solutions using Spark, Airflow (MWAA), and other AWS-native tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver optimal solutions that align with business goals.

• Build, deploy, and manage CI/CD pipelines using BitBucket, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools.

• Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation Templates (CFT).

• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows to ensure high availability and performance.

• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across all data processing systems.

Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Airflow/MWAA.

• Proficient in data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.

• Deep understanding of AWS networking concepts and security best practices.

• Expertise in data pipeline design and end-to-end solutioning using AWS ecosystem.

• Experience with integration design, development, and debugging within AWS environments.

• Proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline creation, and Jenkins automation.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation Templates.

• Familiarity with source control tools like BitBucket.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on cloud-based solutions.

• At least 3 years of experience working with AWS data services and pipeline development.

• Demonstrated success in building production-grade data infrastructure and automation.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $112,000 to $120,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
