Description
Under the close supervision of a Principal Biologist or other supervisory official in a state department or local government agency, as a trainee and productive worker, works in a specialized field requiring the application of biological principles; learns to perform the various research and testing activities of the assigned area; does other related duties as required.

Specific to the Position
Conduct surveys of upland game, turkey, and migratory birds, and their habitats following accepted protocols. Provide assistance in wildlife control response situations as needed. Collect biological samples and analyze data for population trends, management needs, and research including disease. Assist in the preparation of related reports and management plans. Provide information to the public and other interested parties. Work in cooperation with local, state & Federal Government agencies.

Preferred Skill Set
Bachelor's degree with concentration in Wildlife Conservation or Management; familiarity with and emphasis in game species identification, biology, habitat requirements, and management approaches. Experience with wildlife survey techniques, handling, and/or bird-banding. Strong computer, GIS, and statistical skills, as well as interpersonal and public speaking skills.

Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in one of the biological sciences.

License
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Residency
