Job Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers for trade data processing - Build scalable data pipelines to support Trade Surveillance use cases (e.g., market abuse detection, alerts generation) - Develop and optimize high-volume batch processing jobs - Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting - Collaborate with compliance and surveillance teams to translate surveillance scenarios into technical solutions qualifications:
Daily Responsibilities / Priorities: - Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers for trade data processing - Build scalable data pipelines to support Trade Surveillance use cases (e.g., market abuse detection, alerts generation) - Develop and optimize high-volume batch processing jobs - Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting - Collaborate with compliance and surveillance teams to translate surveillance scenarios into technical solutions - Support alert generation frameworks and case management data structures - Ensure data lineage, traceability, and auditability of trade data - Regular Points of Contact - Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology team - Business Analysts - Global Compliance & Operational Risk partners - Audit and Regulatory stakeholders - Client Interaction - No external client interaction - Regular engagement with internal business and compliance stakeholders - Example Projects & Expected End Result - Build and enhance trade surveillance Data Quality controls - Investigate and remediate data quality issues impacting surveillance outcomes - Review and understand the code implemented in Actimize AIS, then re-engineer the underlying logic into PL/SQL. - Perform query tuning, indexing, and execution plan optimization for large datasets - Deliver regulator ready solutions with measurable improvements in alert quality, coverage, and control effectiveness What Project They Are Working On: - Enterprise trade surveillance and compliance applications within Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology - Regulatory driven initiatives delivered through the Oracle DB and CSDR platform - Surveillance and monitoring solutions covering Front Office and Global Markets activity - Selling Points - High impact role supporting regulatory compliance and risk reduction - Strong ownership and visibility across senior technology and compliance stakeholders - Opportunity to work on complex datasets, surveillance logic. - Hands on senior developer role with end to end accountability - Hard Skills - 10+ years of hands on software development experience - Strong, production level Oracle PLSQL and Actimize AIS knowledge. - Experience with relational and object databases - Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and strong understanding of Database internals - Solid understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and version control - Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - High attention to data accuracy and control effectiveness - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulatory-driven environment - Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders - Proactive mindset with ownership and accountability - Preferred Skills / Experience - Working knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for automation - Familiarity with trade lifecycle (orders, executions, etc) - Exposure to Trade Surveillance, Market Misconduct, Global Markets Compliance - Exposure to Actimize AIS platform - Characteristics of a Top Performer - Lead design discussions and document design details - Partner with data engineers, architects, compliance, and business stakeholders - Drive best practices for database development, code quality, and documentation - Contribute to strategic initiatives (e.g., platform modernization, surveillance re-write programs) - Comfortable working in fast paced, regulatory driven environments - Produces high quality, well tested, and scalable code - Specific Industry Terms Useful for the Search - Trade Surveillance - Market Misconduct - Front Running - Compliance Technology - Global Markets - Regulatory Controls - Enterprise Risk Technology - Surveillance Controls
