Job Overview:
The Accounts Payable (AP) Processor is responsible for coordinating the timely and accurate processing of invoices in alignment with company policies and procedures. This role involves researching and resolving issues, taking appropriate actions, and escalating matters as needed to ensure vendors are paid within designated timeframes.
The AP Processor will regularly interface with vendors and internal stakeholders, providing clear communication and guidance on policy compliance when necessary. The ideal candidate will independently manage their workload, consistently meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Additionally, this role supports team coverage needs, participates in special projects, and performs other duties as assigned. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years accounts payable or finance experience
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, possess good communication, written and verbal skills.
Preferred:
- Associate degree
- Strongly prefer experience within multiple locations and PeopleSoft a plus
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full-Time, Day, Hourly
- Hybrid/Remote position
- Will be on-site in Oceanport FULL-TIME for the first several weeks until training is completed
Essential Functions:
- Processes vouchers in compliance with policies and guidelines while working their assigned roles/tasks in the OCR and ERP systems.
- Performs research, problem solves and takes corrective action to ensure payments are made within appropriate timeframes including vendor addition invites and notifications.
- Performs follows up on the assigned timeline for invoices pending approval to ensure they are addressed in a timely fashion.
- Informs management and end-users of delays of complications within the process.
- Prepares documentation for audits and reroutes to alternative approvers when an approver is out of the office.
- Balances and maintain workload with minimal supervision while adhering to departmental policies, procedures and position and department performance standards.
- Able to perform the AP Verifier role, provides team coverage and special projects as needed.
- Produces updates, emails, and other communication in a clear and effective manner.
- Establish and maintain rapport through effective communication and timely follow-up with customers, coworkers, management, and outside agencies and vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned
