Staff Management Group is seeking a Senior Mechanic for our client in East Hanover, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule

• 3rd shift: 11PM - 7:15AM
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate

• $32 / hour

Job Summary

The Senior Mechanic is responsible for having the skills necessary to setup, operate and trouble shoot all packaging machinery.The Senior Mechanic will also possess the ability to lead a team of 5 to 10 mechanics.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for proper tooling and setup of packaging lines.
• Responsible for ensuring that process parameters are set according to documented standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Work with Quality Assurance to resolve various packaging quality related issues.
• Responsible for machine operation efficiency and waste minimization.
• Responsible to complete all necessary machine documentation.
• Provide training to operators.
• Assist Production Supervisor in maintaining cGMP, DEA, and OSHA compliance.
• Responsible for machine safety requirements and production line compliance to safety guidelines.
• Responsible for line clearance and approval authorization.
• Must have working knowledge of PLC and Automation.
• Must have working knowledge of continuous inkjet and thermal inkjet printers, UV printers, blister packaging machines, bottle fillers, cartoners, and vision systems.
• Provide recommendations for continuous process improvement, e.g., adding new equipment or build out from existing.
• All other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Job Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a packaging mechanic or equivalent experience.
• Should be able to lift a minimum 45 lbs
• Must be able to work in high volume packaging rooms
• Must be able to read and write in English.
