Teacher Assistant - Floater - Part Time

Summary

Part-Time Classroom Teacher Assistant for a year-round program; Monday through Friday; 15 hours per week; 3:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. Positively interact with children on a regular basis throughout the afternoon and assist them with their needs. Support Classroom Teacher. Responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times. Provide a warm and inviting classroom environment that is always prepared and ready to offer care for our young children on a daily basis. Children range in ages from newborns to 5 years old.

Duties

Interactions such as: diapering, potty training, cleaning, activities, comforting, napping, playing, assisting with mealtimes, gross motor play...
Work alongside Classroom Teacher with classroom organization and management ensuring compliance.
Follow Teacher's weekly lesson plans / activities.
Open communication with parents.
Maintain all records and reports of meals, attendance, illness, wee-mails, accident/injury/unusual incident.
Participate in workshops and complete yearly trainings / professional development.
Follow all practices and procedures.
Assist in all areas of need.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Early Childhood or CDA preferred, but not required (must have a High School Diploma at a minimum).
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Knowledge of the Creative Curriculum and GOLD's Assessments.
Must be willing to provide proof of Physical & TB Test Results.
Must be willing to complete a CARI Background Check and Fingerprints.

Nice To Haves

Pediatric First-Aid Certification Required or willing to obtain.
Knowledge of GROWNJ requirements.
