The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager, the transporter is responsible for transporting case carts and equipment throughout the hospital. Provide Stat and routine errand services to Operating Room, Sterile Processing, Material Management, and Central Supply.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and write English
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of Operating departmental equipment
• Ability to maneuver and operate transport equipment
• At least 6 months of related experience
• Experience using an electronic tracking system
• Exceptional customer service skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift- 7:00am-3:00pm
• Monday-Friday including every other weekend and holiday
• Full Time-Day

Essential Functions :

• Transports case carts, supplies, disposable materials, custom packs and instrument trays between the Operating Room, SPD and throughout the hospital
• Observe proper safety techniques, practices and processes and report any variances to the proper personnel immediately,
• Make routine rounds of Operating Room & Sterile Processing for return case carts and instrument trays,
• Perform routine rounds throughout hospital , picking up unused sterile instrument trays and scanning and returning them to the proper Sterile Processing Sterile Storage Area,
• Verify daily supply requirements and delivery times for each clinic using electronic instrument tracking system,
• Perform duties with awareness of Patient Safety , comfort, and privacy at all times
• Respond to exception request from clinical supply staff
• Assist with stocking inventory in clinics; receive instrument orders, check in items, stock shelves, and retrieve supplies,
• Must adhere to the policies and procedures of the Sterile Processing
• Must adhere to the policies and procedures of the Sterile Processing Department and Operating Room
• Maintain records of distribution and receipt
• Performs other duties as assigned by management
