Job Description

As a Security Officer Checkpoint Screener in Somerset, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Screener with Allied Universal, you will help monitor access at a busy logistics location, screen visitors and/or team members, and support daily operations through visible presence, strong communication, and attentive observation. This role offers the opportunity to provide outstanding customer service while helping address security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or deliveries entering or exiting the location in accordance with site-specific access procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, as assigned, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor entry points, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and communicate clearly with personnel regarding screening requirements and site expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
