Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Special Education (with state credentials)
• Coursework or credits in Mathematics; alternatively, Teacher of the Handicapped certification plus math credits considered
• Experience teaching students with diverse learning needs strongly preferred
• Knowledge of instructional strategies for special education
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs and document student progress
• Exceptional communication skills, collaborating with families, general education teachers, and support staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging Math instruction to students receiving special education services
• Develop, write, and maintain effective IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching techniques to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement strategies for student success
• Monitor and assess student progress, making data-driven instructional decisions
• Create an encouraging classroom environment that celebrates individual achievements and growth
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and collaborative goals
