Medical Director
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care across the organization. This role is responsible for developing clinical policies, supervising medical staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering collaboration among departments. The Medical Director plays a critical role in advancing clinical excellence, improving patient outcomes, and guiding the organization in adopting evidence‑based practices and emerging medical innovations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and standards to ensure patient safety, satisfaction, and high‑quality care.
- Oversee the performance of physicians and other medical staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and organizational expectations.
- Coordinate with other departments to promote effective communication, collaboration, and integrated patient care.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to address concerns, communicate updates, and reinforce changes in clinical procedures or policies.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Partner with Human Resources in the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of medical staff.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the medical department, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Review and analyze medical records, reports, and clinical data to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care services.
- Stay current with medical research, technologies, and best practices, integrating advancements into clinical operations when appropriate.
- Lead clinical problem‑solving efforts and address issues related to clinical quality, staff performance, and medical errors.
- Oversee clinical peer review processes and ensure continuous quality improvement across all clinical programs.
- Establish and maintain standards for patient care and monitor patient outcomes to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Develop and implement plans for health services that align with organizational goals and community needs.
- Greets all patients/clients/customers via telephone or directly in a personal and professional manner.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend job‑related training as mandated.
- Meet dress code standards; maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timeframes.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in annual reviews, department in‑services, and staff meetings as scheduled.
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Communicate the mission, vision, and goals of the facility, as well as the department’s focus statement.
- Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent and/or as assigned by Chief Medical Officer. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Master’s Degree in medical discipline from an accredited college or university required.
- Five years of experience in a clinical, academic or administrative capacity required.
- Full licensure to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey and must be board-certified in a primary care specialty required.
- Should possess all the qualifications of a staff physician.
- Required to have a valid driver’s license.
- Additional professional certifications related to healthcare leadership and/or administration preferred.
- Have a strong community health/public health orientation, be experienced in patient care management
- Strong knowledge of medical regulations, clinical procedures, and healthcare standards.
- Outstanding leadership & communication skills.

$164,600 - 260,000
