Responsibilities: POSITION SUMMARY : The role works closely with teams to oversees the warehouse floor activities including the proper handling and recording of materials being received by vendors and pulled for shipment to the production facilities.
This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Team player who aligns and upholds our values: Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and Continuous Improvement and passion for customer and consumers
- Attendance is essential to perform duties
- Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainings
- Always ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee shipping and receiving crew during shift operation
- Ensure staff follows all MFI, Safety, Quality and Governmental processes and procedures as required
- Support warehouse, transportation, and production operation
- Responsible for proper placement of material in the cooler, freezer, and dock locations
- Participate in the training of new employees to include documenting the employees' progress
- Excellent written and verbal skills for daily communication of information to floor staff as needed.
- Perform simple SAP functions
- Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies/procedures and incorporate safety and health in all job duties/tasks
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: - High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent years of experience preferred
- One year experience in warehousing, transportation and computer skills or equivalent education
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
- Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: - Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, repetitive hand motion and reach above shoulder level
- Ability to work indoors in wet and humid environments and stand on hard surfaces
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs
