Mechanic

As a Packaging Junior Mechanic, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of filling, labeling, and coding equipment, ensuring seamless production processes. You will conduct line clearance, verify component matches, and authorize lines for production, while also operating and monitoring automatic filling line modules.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setup and changeovers on filling, labeling, and coding equipment.
• Install tooling, adjust guides/nozzles, mount film/label rolls, configure print files, and set sensor positions.
• Conduct line clearance and verify all components match batch startup checklists.
• Authorize the line for production.
• Operate and monitor filling, capping, crimping, and in-line labeling modules.
• Make mechanical and electronic adjustments to maintain speed and product quality.
• Address line stoppages and escalate larger issues when necessary.
• Respond quickly to alarms and error codes.
• Log production data including output, downtime, and machine settings.
• Coordinate with maintenance if technical issues exceed operator scope.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating multi-equipment packaging or filling lines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform changeovers and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of GMP, quality checks, and production standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

This is a contract position based out of Somerset, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
