Delivery Driver
Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Summary:
The Delivery Driver transports telecommunications equipment on a project basis to and from CBM and customer facilities. This includes everything from long hours of driving in all weather and conditions to physically moving material into and out of vehicles to CBM and customer facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Transport telecommunications equipment over land to and from CBM and or customer facilities.
● Perform “white glove” delivery service in a safe manner, preventing equipment damage.
● Perform equipment and trash removal services.
● Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
● Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
● Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
● Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
● Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
● Collect and verify delivery instructions.
● Report defects, accidents or violations.
● When not performing delivery functions, driver will assist with warehouse functions as a warehouse specialist.
● Adherence to training, safety and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
• High school degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• Must have appropriate medical clearance (CDL-B equivalent) to drive a vehicle with a GVWR greater than 26,000 pounds, as well as any vehicle towing a trailer that does not exceed a GVWR of 10,000 pounds.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Proven work experience as a Truck Driver.
● Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
● No recent moving or driving violations.
● Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rule and regulations.
● Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
● Knowledge of customer requirements for delivery.
● Knowledge of warehousing techniques.
● Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
● Skilled in using common warehouse machinery and equipment.
● Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
● Skilled in following written and oral instructions.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
● Maintains physical stamina and strength required to move heavy equipment and product weighing up to 75 pounds.
● Must be capable of managing time effectively and multi-tasking as necessary.
● Demonstrates familiarity with all warehouse and delivery safety precautions and is able to observe these at all times.
Special Requirements:
● No recent moving or driving violations.
● Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
● Depending upon the nature of work, the workers should take care of points such as cleanliness, punctuality and safety codes.
Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee will be required to drive for long periods of time and load/unload vehicles. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb; stoop, kneel and crouch.
• The employee must regularly be able lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
• Majority of typical workday is spent driving a commercial truck/van.
• Time will be spent in warehouses and customer premises, including office, central office, datacenter, cell site, and other telecommunications locations.
• Time may also be spent meeting with supervisors in an office.
• Temperatures are variable and often uncontrolled, unless the product being stored requires that the maintenance of a specific temperature.
• Conditions onsite and on the road can be dangerous, as tasks involve the operation of material handling equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
