The Business Development Officer position objective is to develop banking relationships with middle market and larger businesses. The Business Development Officer will be responsible for generating new sales opportunities through acquisition of new business members by networking, marketing and promoting Affinity Federal Credit Union. They will identify new business opportunities and work with other areas of the credit union to obtain business. The main focus will be on generating new business member deposit accounts, business loans, retention and cross selling other products and services of Affinity. This position will be responsible for traveling and developing business opportunities within the Morris County, NJ footprint.

This position will require thorough knowledge of all credit union products and services, including deposit products, lending products, cash management products and virtual banking tools, with a solid understanding of features and benefits of each. Will work independently to identify, explore and acquire potential new business members by prospecting and networking with businesses and COI’s. Formulate and execute strategies to generate new low cost business deposits. Develop and present business proposals to acquire new relationships with new members and prospects.

The salary range for a new hire in this position is $85k to $90k. The wage/salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several qualifying factors, including but not limited to: years of relevant experience, years of industry experience, education, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Focuses on acquisition and business development of new commercial member relationships
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization
• Advise business members on financial solutions and strategies
• Manage and review current member relationships for new opportunities
• Identify quality Select Employee Group opportunities through development of business relationships
• Achieve assigned sales goals
• Demonstrate understanding and development of business financial solutions
• Sales tracking and reporting
• Ensures follow up activities are employed to maximize closing business
• Fosters teamwork by developing small business skills and providing ongoing coaching to member facing team; partners in assigned markets to effectively identify referral opportunities.
• Manage all referrals received from line of business partners
• Ability to articulate Affinity’s core values

Education and Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of business development in financial services is required.
