Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive nursing knowledge, and a commitment to resident-centered care. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.

Duties:

• Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff, including nurse management and shift management.
• Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans tailored to residents' needs.
• Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and ensure accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of resident information.
• Monitor resident’s health status, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and oversee MDS assessments.
• Supervise the administration of medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and care protocols.
• Conduct regular audits of documentation, medical records, and care plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with management to improve care delivery processes and foster a culture of excellence in nursing practice.

Skills:

• Extensive experience in nursing homes, hospice care, or acute care environments.
• Strong knowledge of resident’s needs, care planning, and Medicare regulations.
• Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing administration and team management.
• In-depth understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and shift management.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, residents’ families, physicians, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of resident care.
