Inventory Fulfillment Department - Night Shift Manager
Our client, a building supplies company, is seeking a driven and emotionally intelligent Night Shift Manager to lead their Inventory Fulfillment Department, ensuring that all shelves and inventory are fully replenished and production is fully supplied for the next day’s operations.
This role is vital to maintaining the smooth, continuous flow of materials throughout the night shift, supporting production needs and keeping the facility running efficiently and safely.
The ideal candidate is not only experienced in production management but also exceptional at connecting with people. Since the night shift operates with fewer resources, the manager must possess strong leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence skills to motivate the team, resolve challenges calmly, and foster a supportive, high-performing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of approximately 50–70 night shift employees in the Inventory Fulfillment Department.
- Foster a collaborative, positive environment aligned with company’s core values and culture.
- Maintain open communication with team members, ensuring trust, transparency, and accountability.
- Oversee the replenishment of all shelves and inventory emptied during the day shift to ensure readiness for the next production cycle.
- Monitor production flow and ensure that night shift operations stay on track, addressing any bottlenecks or delays immediately.
- Coordinate with day shift management to ensure smooth transitions and accurate handoffs.
- Enforce all safety protocols, perform regular safety checks, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Supervise machinery and equipment functionality, working with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Track attendance, productivity, and key performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, promoting accountability and engagement.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and fairness when handling employee concerns or conflicts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing, logistics, or production.
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow, and safety protocols.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams in high-volume operations.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence with the ability to connect with and support diverse team members.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial machinery and equipment.
- Sense of urgency and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
