Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Kforce has a client in Secaucus, NJ that is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing technology team supporting cloud-native applications and services. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, with the intent to convert to a full-time employee after a 6-month contract term. This role is hybrid in Secaucus - 1 day per week in the office, on Wednesdays. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across AWS infrastructure, automation, and systems administration in a collaborative, mid-sized environment. Overview: The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will help design, build, and support cloud infrastructure environments with a strong focus on AWS, Infrastructure as Code, and operational stability. This role works closely with cloud architects, developers, and security teams to improve automation, reliability, and scalability across cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and support secure and scalable infrastructure in AWS (with some exposure to Azure)
- Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices
- Administer Linux and Windows servers in cloud environments, including patching and troubleshooting
- Support and improve cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, VPNs)
- Develop automation and scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to support CI/CD pipelines
- Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance standards
- Monitor system performance, availability, and cost; assist with optimization efforts
- Document infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures
- Hybrid work model (1 day onsite per week)

- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting AWS cloud infrastructure
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
- Strong Linux systems administration experience (Windows a plus)
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts (DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs)
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation workflows
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, hands-on team environment
- AWS or cloud-related certifications
- Experience supporting production environments in AWS
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or multi-cloud environments
- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, or containerized workloads
- Knowledge of cloud security frameworks (CIS benchmarks, IAM best practices)
