OPPORTUNITY

The Part-time Literacy Teacher Instructional Coach will play a critical role in partnering with teachers to ensure effective student-centered literacy instruction and increase student achievement. This position requires a deep commitment to access to an empowering education, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making aligned with school and district instructional improvement priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional leadership and coaching skills, expertise in adolescent (grades K - 2) Literacy, and a passion for student achievement by supporting the professional growth of educators. The Coach will support up to 20 literacy teachers across four Camden campuses with a particular focus on strengthening instruction for striving readers, multilingual learners, and students with disabilities. The Part-time Literacy Teacher Instructional Coach will report to the MD, Partner Experience and Impact, and work alongside peer coaches.

This is a fixed-term W2 role, and is anticipated to work 5 - 10 hours per week. Hours may vary slightly based on partner needs, coaching cadence, and school schedules. Renewal of the role aligns with district renewals, scope of work, and organizational priorities.

TRAVEL

This role requires frequent travel to Camden City schools. The Part-time Coach should expect to spend approxi mately 60-70% of their time on site in schools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a grades K - 2 Literacy instructional coach for teachers:

  • Provide direct instructional coaching to teachers aligned to subject matter, school, and district priorities delivered through three structured teaching-and-learning cycles that include cycle goal setting, unit internalization, lesson study, lesson rehearsal and modeling, side-by-side coaching, student data and work analysis, and reflection on cycle goal attainment
  • Collaborate with school leaders to set instructional practice goals and develop strategies to enhance student-centered instruction and student achievement
  • Engage stakeholders to address school priorities, analyze school data, and develop comprehensive support plans promoting excellent educational opportunities and inclusion for all students
  • Use research-based practices and student data to develop an individualized strategy for coaching teachers, tailored to their unique needs and context
  • Train teachers on effective implementation of Wit and Wisdom and MyPerspectives to achieve student mastery of grade-level content and improve teacher practice
  • Integrate TeachFX classroom analytics to gather real-time feedback aligned to each coaching cycle's instructional focus
  • Ground observation and feedback in the Danielson Framework for Teaching (Domains 2 and 3), connecting framework components to the network's high-quality instructional materials
  • Participate in weekly team huddles and attend quarterly Communities of Practice and data meetings, contributing observations that inform network-wide coaching priorities
  • Lead professional development sessions for groups of teachers, focusing on instructional best practices, data analysis, and student-centered teaching strategies
  • Codify tools, coaching strategies, and innovative ideas that improve ANet's ability to coach teachers and support student achievement
  • Document progress notes, plans, and deliverables in accordance with ANet and partner-determined guidelines

COMPETENCIES

  • Critical Thinking and Data Orientation: Ability to think critically, analyze complex data sets, and develop innovative solutions to systemic instructional challenges.
  • Communication: Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various professional audiences. Experience building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in Area of Focus: Experience supporting and/or implementing curriculum

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of K-2 Literacy teaching experience with evidence of impact on student learning including supporting multilingual learners and students with IEPs
  • Minimum 3 years of instructional coaching or teacher leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Has been in a school as a teacher leader or instructional coach in the past three years in K - 2 Literacy; professional development facilitation and student-centered teaching practices
  • Experience teaching and/or implementing Wit & Wisdom, Science of Reading, Foundational Skills Instruction, or the Danielson Framework for Teaching
  • Experience leveraging technology in the classroom (e.g. TeachFX or similar classroom analytics tools, Google Classroom etc.)
  • Familiarity with the Danielson Framework for Teaching (or a comparable instructional framework)
  • Experience supporting adolescent striving readers, including literacy intervention and foundational skills for older students

COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position is $59.19 . In order to uphold our commitment to transparent, equitable, competitive, and sustainable compensation, ANet does not negotiate pay.
