SAP S4 HANA Functional Lead - Specialty FI/CO

About the Role

oXya is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Functional Lead – Finance (FI/CO) to drive Finance transformation initiatives and lead cross-functional delivery across enterprise SAP S/4HANA programs.

In this role, you will own the Finance workstream and provide end-to-end leadership across Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) within SAP S/4HANA environments. You will bring deep implementation experience across the full lifecycle, including design, configuration, integration, testing, go-live, and post-go-live support.

This role is central to oXya transformation strategy. You will serve as a cross-functional orchestrator, ensuring alignment across FI, CO, and integrated modules such as MM, SD, Procurement, and Supply Chain. In addition, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding Finance transformation strategy, conversion approaches, and industry best practices.

You will also represent oXya in pre-sales and solutioning activities, helping shape implementation approaches and contributing to the growth and maturity of our S/4HANA consulting practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP & S/4 HANA CONVERSION EXECUTION

· Own and lead all Finance-related S/4HANA conversion activities: CVI, Simplification Items, ACDOCA design, CO-PA, Universal Journal alignment, and functional remediation.

· Ensure seamless integration of FI-CO with other modules (SD, MM, PP, PS, TM, EWM) and external systems.

· Deliver full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations using Agile and SAP Activate methodologies, including rollouts, conversions, data migrations, and enhancement projects.

· Lead workshops, blueprinting, functional design, testing cycles, cutover planning, and hypercare.

· Drive the Record-to-Report (R2R) scope with a strong focus on Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts receivable, General ledger (GL).

· Validate and guide functional impacts across Z-developments, interfaces, and custom processes.

· Produce high-quality functional specifications for WRICEF objects and ensure alignment with technical teams.

· Lead functional testing cycles with structured documentation and traceability.

· Identify process improvements, automation opportunities (RPA), and best practices.

· Work with SAP Fiori apps, Analytical apps, CDS views, and Embedded Analytics for real-time insights.

PROGRAM & DELIVERY GOVERNANCE

· Act as the functional authority of S/4HANA programs (Brownfield, Bluefield).

· Ensure alignment with SAP Activate methodology and oXya delivery standards.

· Anticipate risks, cross-module impacts, and propose sustainable remediation strategies.

· Support cutover planning, mock conversions, data validation, and readiness assessments

PROGRAM & DELIVERY GOVERANCE

· Act as the functional authority of S/4HANA programs (Brownfield, Bluefield).

· Ensure alignment with SAP Activate methodology and oXya delivery standards.

PRE-SALES & RFP CONTRIBUTION

· Participate in pre-sales cycles, discovery workshops, and solution demonstrations.

· Shape proposals and RFP responses related to Finance transformation and S/4HANA conversion .

· Translate complex SAP concepts into clear, business-oriented guidance for Finance and IT stakeholders.

· Act as the trusted advisor for clients on S/4HANA roadmap, Finance transformation, and conversion strategy.

LEADERSHIP & PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT

· Contribute to the development of oXya’s S/4HANA methodology, templates, and internal knowledge base.

· Mentor junior consultants and support capability building within the FI/CO and cross-functional teams.

· Stay current with SAP S/4HANA innovations, roadmap updates, and Finance best practices.

COLLABORATION & CLIENT ENGAGEMENT

· Work closely with internal teams (BASIS, ABAP, delivery) and other functional domains

· Engage with diverse stakeholders across Finance, IT, Procurement, and Supply Chain & other functional areas as needed.

· Lead client workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and functional design reviews

· Act as a Trusted Advisor, translate complex challenges into clear guidance and support client decision-making

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.10+ years of experience in SAP FI/CO, including strong exposure to multi-client or AMS environments.

· 10+ years of SAP FI/CO experience, including exposure to multi-client environments and/or AMS delivery models.

· Strong S/4HANA Finance expertise, including Universal Journal (ACDOCA), CO-PA, CVI, and Simplification Items.

· Proven experience participating in multiple SAP S/4HANA conversions (Brownfield or Bluefield), including functional lead responsibilities.

· Strong understanding of end-to-end integration across FI, CO, MM, SD, Procurement, and Supply Chain.

· Experience leading workshops, functional design sessions, testing cycles, and cutover activities.

· Ability to develop detailed functional specifications and validate technical deliverables (WRICEF).

· Expertise in key Finance processes and concepts, including New GL, Document Splitting, Parallel Accounting, Margin Analysis, Financial Closing, Treasury, and Revenue Accounting.

· Strong knowledge of Financial Closing, Treasury, and Revenue Accounting

· Understanding of SAP BTP, Clean Core principles, and extensibility frameworks.

· Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead in complex client environments.

· Willingness to travel up to 20% across the US.
